The freshman English curriculum reviews and develops communication skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.  Areas of emphasis include orientation to drama (Romeo and Juliet), mythology (The Odyssey), various short stories, the novel (The Call of the Wild), grammar and mechanics, biography research writing, and various other writing compositions.
